Contacting the charities

Last week I've e-mailed the charities asking for their logo and a few more things about their organizations. The first charity to e-mail me back was St. Catherine's Hospice. Here is the e-mail :

Hi Ioana,

I was forwarded your email by Emma Jacovelli in the Fundraising Department.

What is the event that you’re planning?

In response to your questions:

1. What would you say your motto is? – We don’t necessarily have a motto but I’ve attached a word document with some notes for you about St Catherine’s Hospice
2. Do you have a virtual version (preferably vectors, for Adobe Illustrator) of your logo?
– I’ve also attached a copy of our logo in JPEG format (let me know if you want it another format)
3. Is there anything specific that you would like us to mention in our promotional posters, flyers etc.?
- Can I see a copy of the poster and then let you know if I want you to add anything?

Thanks

Natasha

Unfortunately, there were no attachments in the email so I've asked Natasha to send them to me again.

A few days later, Sue Ryder e-mailed me back. Here is the e-mail:

Hi Ioana

Thanks so much for getting in touch. It's fantastic to hear you're planning on holding an event in
collaboration with Debenhams to raise money for charity & we're delighted to be one of the charities you've chosen to support.

Please find answers to your questions below:

1. What would you say your motto is? To provide incredible care for those with incurable illnesses. At Sue Ryder, we believe every person living with any kind of incurable illness has the right not just to receive specialist medical care, but also the emotional support they need to cope with the difficult and distressing effects of their illness. Even more than that, we believe they deserve as much flexibility and freedom as possible to live out the rest of their lives in the way that they want.
2. How did you raise money for the charity in the past? In a variety of ways - in regional fundraising we have organised local events; have people taking part in third party running & challenge events such as the London Marathon & Pendle 10k; promote our work to corporates, community groups, individuals hopefully inspiring them to choose to support Sue Ryder by volunteering their time or organising their own event; we also have furniture sales, clothes /book shops & a coffee shop at Sue Ryder Cuerden Hall all run by volunteers. We also have a Trusts Team who apply for funding from trusts across the region.
3. Do you have a virtual version (preferably vectors, for Adobe Illustrator) of your logo? I've attached our logo.

Emma Russ is our local fundraiser for Lancashire so if you need anything at all please do get in touch with Emma. I'm sure she'd be delighted to hear more about what you've got planned. I've copied Emma into this email and you can also speak to her on 01772 698 145.

Thanks again for getting in touch.
